Jamie Bennett Mural in Burlington

Reactor was approached by RLW Design on behalf of their client, optician Christine Brooks who was launching a second Blur Eyewear store in Burlington. To compliment the white on white design of the new store (located in the Ikea Plaza at the 403/QEW), they commissioned Jamie Bennett to create and execute a 10’ high by 50’ wide mural. Working with the theme of eyes, looking and seeing, Jamie designed a light and playful composition. She executed the final art in pieces as graphite pencil drawings with separate grayscale watercolour washes. The artwork was scanned by the studio and digitally pieced together. Colour was added to the grayscale washes and the final composition was adjusted to work with the individual glass panels.

The completed mural digital file was printed by Autograph Trim Imaging Specialists onto 3M™ transparent vinyl which was applied to the backside of the glass panel. The glass panels were then mounted three inches from a white wall.
