March 10, 2020From February 24 to June 19, 2020, Bill Russell is participating in the Marin Community Foundation (MCF) group Exhibition “Voyagers“. This show features bold colours, high contrast and graphic narratives woven together by nine Bay Area artists to illustrate a visual fabric of exploration. Rooted in abstraction and non-representational imagery, you’re invited to take a trip with these “voyagers” across multiple creative practices. This show comprises a variety of mediums including oil & acrylic paintings, sculpture, mixed media on canvas, paper & panel, block prints and assemblage.
The exhibition will be held at the Foundation’s offices at 5 Hamilton Landing, Suite 200, Novato, CA and can be viewed by the public between 9am-5pm, Monday-Friday.

Prints, Illustrators and Social Commentary: A Sale of Donated Prints
With the invention of print media, artists began using ink on paper to create single prints and portfolios of prints to address aesthetic, political, cultural and technological issues. For illustrators, prints and portfolios occupy the middle ground between one-of-a-kind originals and marketplace reproduction. They offer the opportunity to collaborate with small publishers and print makers to create subjects in a single or series of images that relate without having to be a narrative.
Something unusual for the collector’s acquisition.
Prints by Marc Bell, Benito, R.O. Blechman and Nicholas Blechman, Alan E. Cober, Michael Constable, Henrik Drescher, Carolyn Gowdy, William Hogarth, Christopher Hutsel, Jeff Jackson, Barbara Klunder, Jerzy Kolacz, Ross MacDonald, Bill Russell, Fiona Smyth, Alëna Skarina and James Turner
