This is one of the images from Dreams Of Patoot, featuring more than 400 of Blair Drawson’s illustrations in an interactive visual narrative specifically created for the iPhone and iPad. The story centers around Patoot, a young citizen of Plafunda which is a distant benevolent planet (similar to our own in many ways, yet significantly different in others). Patoot, like young citizens everywhere, has friends and relations, and they all have their own distinct storyline separate from, and parallel to, the main narrative. That’s the interactive part.
We are anticipating an early April launch of the App in the iTunes store. Stay tuned for more information.

Shan Hai Jing, literally translated as Collection of Mountains and Seas, is an ancient text on geography and mythology in China.
This exhibition was initiated by Holly Lee, who first started her series of photographs titled Shan Hai Jing in 2010. Inspired by the work of Fiona and Erik, Holly found many similarities in the mythology of their work, so she suggested that together they adopt Shan Hai Jing as a theme to create a body of new work to be shown together.
The Opening Reception is Saturday, 16 March, 2013, from 3-6 pm.
INDEXG Gallery
50 Gladstone Avenue
 Toronto
Gallery hours are Wednesday to Sunday from 1-6 pm.
The exhibition runs thru April 28, 2013.

Long before the days of Eye and Now Magazine, Toronto had an alternative culture biweekly newspaper. The first issue of Guerilla, costing 25 cents, was published on June 5, 1970.
During it’s three year existence, the paper featured many illustrations (the pay was free pizza) by Toronto’s emerging illustration community. Bob Fortier was a frequent contributor.
The paper provided information on how to survive as a “hippie” in the urban city, contact information for newly arrived Vietnam War deserters and draft dodgers and frequently covered issues from a left-wing perspective such as the Stop The Spadina Expressway, pollution and corporate greed. The paper lasted until June of 1973.
