Another Reactor award-winning album cover will be on display at the Canadian Museum of Civilization in the upcoming month.
The Parachute Club’s Small Victories album won a Juno Award for best album design in 1987. Cover illustration by Jamie Bennett. Art direction, design and hand-lettering by Shari Spier. Photography by George Whiteside.
This new display at the Canadian Museum of Civilization is a celebration of the JUNO Award winners from the Recording Package of the Year category from 1975 to present. These works will be accompanied by a photo exhibit celebrating the past 40 years of the JUNO Awards.
The exhibit runs from March 16 – April 13, 2012 in the W.E. Taylor Salon at the CMC.

March 8, 2012Diamond Estates and the National Hockey League Alumni Association teamed up to create a wine appropriately named Hat Trick. Matt Dixon of Diamond Estates commissioned Louis Fishauf to create the packaging and labeling for the new wine. It’s a blend of three different grapes and proceeds from each bottle sold go to the NHL Alumni Association to support various charitable causes and promote the game of hockey.

February 20, 2012Spirit of Talk Talk is a richly illustrated, beautifully designed book celebrating the music and art of the legendary British band, Talk Talk.
James Marsh has brought together all of the great cover art work that he produced for Talk Talk in the 80’s. The book will feature James’ original cover art and concept sketches, hand written lyrics from Mark Hollis, Talk Talk’s lead singer, as well as various ephemera, posters, and related commentaries. The publisher has created a website to gauge interest in the book. Please visit the Spirit of Talk Talk web site and indicate your interest. Note that registration does NOT commit you to buying the book… it simply helps anticipate the print run in advance.
