2024 Toronto Book Awards

Maurice Vellekoop is the winner of the 2024 Toronto Book Award for his graphic memoir, I’m So Glad We Had This Time Together – the first graphic novel ever to win the prize. Reactor’s role in Maurice Vellekoop's acclaimed graphic novel was layout, design, and print production. Reactor transformed his illustrations into a cohesive tour de force of graphic storytelling, involving scanning, retouching, and precise colour matching of all artwork. In close collaboration with Maurice, every aspect of the layout received meticulous attention. Vellekoop's handwriting was used to create a custom font, adding a personal touch. Spanning more than a decade, from sketches to finals, we refined every detail, bringing Vellekoop's art to life.
